You can quickly and simply check for excess axle loads using the Axle Load Indicator.
Accurate sensors measure the air bag pressure on left- and right-hand sides. Intelligent software then converts the air bag pressure measured into an axle load. If a pre-set value is exceeded, e.g. 80% axle load, then an LED slowly starts flashing. The more heavily the axle is loaded, the faster the LED flashes until it reaches a second pre-set value, e.g. 100% axle load. On reaching this second pre-set value, the LED remains lit, but stops flashing. This system can be extended with an audible signal produced by a mutable buzzer. The Axle Load Indicator can be installed in the cab or in a robust, watertight housing outside the vehicle.
If you want to know whether the vehicle has been overloaded, then the Axle Load Indicator is a simple and reliable means of avoiding excess axle loads and associated fines. Advantages:
- highly accurate overload signal
- quick and easy to use
- avoids excess load fines
